I do about 20 talks a year to commercial audiences. Most of my presentations are about the topics covered on this web site and in my newsletter but I am very happy to research new areas of interest, such as the global food system or trends in consumption.
A particular specialisation of mine is the production and use of hydrogen. How will green hydrogen be made? Which electrolyser technologies will dominate? How will hydrogen be stored and transported? Which industries can be easily converted to H2? How much of the gas will be required? Can the world decarbonise almost exclusively by using renewable electricity and green hydrogen? Contact me for more details of possible presentations or training sessions.
I have spoken in the last few years to groups as diverse as a Middle Eastern national oil company, the renewables subsidiary of an international energy company, one of the world’s largest wine companies, the Research Council of Norway, a Dutch supplier of equipment to the offshore oil industry, a university in Germany, a global audit and consulting company and a large sovereign wealth fund.
My aim is to provide interesting new ideas, firmly based on quantitative analysis, for both specialist and general audiences. I hope I communicate with energy, enthusiasm and clarity. I usually introduce a small amount of general science and technology but at a level easily understood by everybody.
Here is a quote from the organiser of a recent conference in Scotland:
Many thanks for your time and presentation Chris. It was everything I’d hoped it would be and more. I had the best feedback I’ve ever heard from delegates after your talk – they were truly inspired.
Here is a video recording of a talk I gave in April 2019.
My presentations start from the perspective that it is overwhelmingly important that global decarbonisation is rapid and, second, that the existing companies are well-placed to profitably assist in this transition.
Or, if you prefer, please contact me directly: chris@carboncommentary.com or +44 (0) 7767 386696. I am very happy indeed to speak to any audience, including community groups, on the subject of my new book ‘What We Need To Do Now’, published in 2020 or ‘Crushing It’ on hydrogen, issued in April 2021.
